It is film time and film time does not officially end until April 25.
So until April 25, I will be stressing out over my first student film at CalArts.
It's easy to forget that student films are supposed to be fun -_____-
I am animating my film traditionally with paper and pencil, and it's been a killer... but fun I must add.
I feel that I don't have enough animation experience to be animating a human.
Especially my main character... a cat with a tail that is 3 times its body length!
I'm just going to have to do it!
Animating is a lot of fun but it gets confusing real easily because I lack the experience.
Plus, I'm at school 6 days a week for 11+ hours because of class and films. It hasn't been easy :P
I think I'm going to have to keep some comfy clothes in my cube to switch into while I do work...
We're all on a pretty aggressive schedule for the next few months.
We should have our animation done by March 25.
Our films are due April 8 for class.
And then they are officially due April 25 for the Producer's Show.
I know I'm typing a more negative post about the student films
But at the same time, I want to be able to look back on this post when I'm finally done with mine.
I'm super excited for my class. This is definitely a huge accomplishment and we're all in it together.
I probably won't be posting much until films are done. I wouldn't be surprised if I don't post at all!
Until then, I am posting a background that I did for my film.
My backgrounds are also on paper and rendered with colored pencil on a very toothy paper for a soft look.
This one hasn't been touched up on Photoshop yet but I'm coming around to that.
That cat is up to no good!
Good luck to all the freshmen and cheers for our first film!
