For the Boyfriend
My boyfriend asked me to to draw him something for his birthday this year.
So I decided I wanted to use colored pencil this time.
I haven't used colored pencil since first year so it got a little messy.
But I gracefully covered up my mistakes :P
I won't be scanning it because I didn't set the drawing with fixative.
If I have to scan it, I can just take it back anyway :)
Also, use your old brown bags to wrap gifts and make gift tags!
It looks like a package from the old days and feels more personal cause you draw little doodles on them.
Who doesn't like that???

More Film Stuff
Just a few screenshots of my film character.
You can see the reference drawing in the background.
I'm still working on it but it's almost there! I don't want to show the face because it's ugly right now :/
Huge thanks to Theresa Latzko for guiding me through the modeling.

Gallery Show 2013
Spring semester has officially started and we are having our Character Animation gallery show this Thursday the 17th!
We decided we are going to do a naked ladies theme.
And we all got pretty white frames to put the paintings in!
I've posted the ones that I did.
I kind of wish I made mine more graphic so it would read better.
Oh well :P

Third Year Film Stuff
Even though it's winter break... the work doesn't stop!
I guess that's just the life of a character animation student at CalArts :P
I've been building my CG elements for my third year film during the break.
It's my first CG film so I'm super nervous. But modeling has fun since I'm trying to keep them somewhat simple.
I really want to focus on the animation this year. The elements in my film will be simple so I don't get too fussy with them.
And I will be using a very limited color palette. Just black, white and red with grey tints.
Here are a few screenshots of some stuff for my film:
Escape pod:
Pistol:
And a syringe. I want to animate some fluids in 2D for that grey window space.
I wish I had some little holiday drawings to post but I've been working on my CG elements :(
I'm so sad the holidays are over. I'm already looking forward to the holidays next year!
But until then... Happy 2013 and Happy New Years!

Monster
Here is a rough animation test of what my monster could possibly look like for my third year film.
There's definitely a lot more tweaking that needs to be done.
A lot more...
